Ten years of evaluating information use in private and public schools has taught us this valuable lesson: Effective data practice requires effective data leadership.

Mission: To help schools build sustainable cultures of data-informed instruction and evidence-based improvement practices supported by visual analytic technology and strategic leadership.

To accomplish that mission, ISIS Affiliates brings together a wealth of expertise in such areas as K-12 instruction and administration at NAIS-affiliated independent schools; effective data leadership and practices at all levels including school, district and state; strategic consulting; professional development; web application and data base design; customer support; and graphic design.

Ten years of evaluating information use in private and public schools has taught us this valuable lesson: Effective data practice requires effective data leadership. Building sustainable school-wide cultures of data-informed decision making requires more than a tactical focus on data tools and processes — it requires strategic thinking and a systems approach to long-term development.

Our primary focus is to help schools use strategic leadership and information resources to create the effective feedback systems essential for quality performance and continuous, mission-driven improvement. We do this with the Effective Data Leadership and Practices (EDLaP) Integrated Solution© comprised of the ISIS EDLaP Framework, a strategic implementation model* and a suite of powerful performance measurement resources.

The centerpiece of the EDLap Integrated Solution is INSIGHT, a web-based resource that functions as a permanent part of a school’s information infrastructure. INSIGHT allows a school to engage its community in the assessment of performance against multiple blueprints of best practices and school objectives: accreditation mandates, mission, strategic plans, etc. INSIGHT is currently in beta testing with selected independent schools.

Leaders of today’s schools face a strategic imperative created by the confluence of three important trends: 1 unprecedented information-driven change in the new century, 2 a national push to define “the schools of the future,” and 3 new accreditation standards requiring thoughtful, mission-driven processes for school-wide data-informed decision making. ISIS Affiliates is uniquely equipped to help school leaders meet this imperative.
